On 21 – 29 April 2024, a series of activities that are part of the Joint Teaching Research Course Project “Climate Change and Planning: Critical Pedagogies from Coastal/Delta Cities of Asia” in Indonesia have been carried out.</p)
Dr. Jenia Mukherjee and Shreyashi Bhattacharya who are representatives of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IITKGP) – India attended Diponegoro University. Dr. Jenia and Shreyashi gave lectures for the Climate Change and Planning elective course for international students of Master of Urban and Regional Planning Undip. In this activity, not only the learning process in the classroom is carried out but students also make field visits to several areas among are Api-Api village, Kulon Wonokerto, Semut) in Pekalongan district, DKI Jakarta (muara Angke fishing village) and Gresik district (Muara Bengawan Solo).
The activities are also related to SDG 11 targets, directly (11.3 – Inclusive Urbanization and Integrated and Participatory Planning; 11.5 – Disaster Resilience; 11.6 – Reducing Urban Environmental Impact) and indirectly. (11.4 – Cultural and Natural Heritage; 11.A – Rural and Urban Relations; 11.B – Comprehensive Disaster Management Risk).
