The last series of International Lecture Series 2021 activities will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 with the theme Governance for Climate Resilient Cities. The theme of this activity is related to Sustainable Development Goal 11 on Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Sustainable Development Goal 16 on Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. On that occasion, Prof. Dr. Sander Meijerink from the Department of Geography, Planning and Environment, Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands gave material on “Governance for Climate Resilient Cities”. The next session was followed by a presentation by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wiwandari Handayani as Head of the Urban and Regional Planning Department entitled “Promoting Integrated Planning for Resilient City: A Case of Semarang City, Indonesia”. Important notes from the two presentations include, among other things, very broad governance issues such as awareness raising, community organizing, multi-level governance arrangements, institutions to leadership. In addition, to realize the integration of planning in the metropolitan area, a more innovative approach is needed by involving more partners from the private sector, community and international parties. Discussion session moderated by Mrs. Dr.-Ing. Wakhidah Kurniawati went well and some of the activity participants asked questions. The number of participants who took part in this activity were 96 participants who came from the academic community of Diponegoro University, and other institutions. This activity was officially closed by Prof. Dr.sc.agr. Iwan Rudiarto as Chief Executive of the 2021 International Lecture Series.
