On Monday, October 7, 2019 Diponegoro University’s Regional and  Urban Development Masters Program (MPWK) held a public lecture with the theme ” Current Issues in Tourism Development” in the Theater Room Undip. This public lecture was attended by lecturers and students of the Department of Regional and City Planning, and other departments, as well as invited guests including from STIEPARI.

The lecture opened with remarks from the Head of the Department of Regional and Urban Planning, Dr. Ir. Hadi Wahyono, MA. This Public Lecture with a moderator, Mrs. Maya Damayanti, ST., MA., Ph.D with a Speaker of  Prof. Noel Scott from The University of Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.

This lecture covers several things. In the development of tourism in Indonesia, there are several things that need to be considered, namely the concept of travel activities, especially: what tourists can do in that location “something to do” and what tourists can get “something to buy”; Infrastructure; and Partnership, namely amongs the Government, local communities and the private.

In the context of Indonesia’s tourism infrastructure where there are opportunities and challenges, in tourism development have 3 things that need to be considered to support the creation of good Indonesian tourism: to generate income; while preserving nature and the environment and  promote local economic development

After giving the material, the next seesion is discussion. Before closing,  a group photo session has been taken place
