Wednesday, June 6, 2018 The Master Program of Regional and Urban Planning, Diponegoro University held an annual event, Seminar  and Exhibition of Planning Studio and Field-Work Study. This event aims to show the student work of both of master and undergraduate students of studio and field-work study.

Seminar of Planning Studio in 2018 theme “Planning and Development in Coastal Areas of Purworejo and Semarang”. This event was first started with ribbon cutting by the Secretary of DPWK Undip, Mrs. Ir. Retno Widjajanti, MT as symbolic of the opening of the event on the 1st floor of A Building of DPWK.

Furthermore, the seminar was held in MPWK Theather Room, which started with a brief welcome from the Head of Master Program of Regional Development and City, Dr. Iwan Rudiarto, ST, MSc and continued with the opening of seminar by Dean of Faculty of Engineering Ir. Moh, Agung Wibowo, MT. MM, PhD.

The keynote speaker from Local Planning Board of Jawa Tengah Province, who was represented by  the Head of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Regional Development Division, Ir. Arif Jatmiko, MA on Development Policy of Central Java Province. The seminar was attended by master and undergraduate students, lecturers of DPWK Undip, and then has discussants from Central Java Local Government, Semarang City Government, and Purworejo Regency Government, particularly Mr. Anggit Wahyu Nugroho, S.Si., M.Acc. from Local Planning Board and Mr. Stephanus Aan,S.STP,M.Si fromTourism Agency.

 Master students presented their work of studios in seminar. There were six presentations representing each of the specializations or concentrations which were Urban and Regional Planning, Planning and Development of Information System, Regional Planning and Development, Urban Infrastructure Management, Urban Design and Housing and Settlements. The case study of studios are located in Semarang City and Purworejo Regency. Especially for the concentration of Urban and Regional Planning (International Class) take the study area in Kaligawe, Semarang which has a coolaboration  with Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands and Gadjah Mada University. The other five concentrations are located in Purworejo District, Central Java.

The concentration of Urban and Regional Planning takes the theme of Urban Regeneration which is motivated by the problem of land subsidence, flood, slum settlement, low income and low competitiveness. Then with the aim of “Creates Livable and Competitive Kaligawe in 2040” resulted in planning being divided into 2 stages as well as the Site Plan area.

The concentration of Planning and Development of Information System develops information systems in the form of maps and information systems in the form of WebGIS. WeGIS is built around database creation and presentation of regional development planning information in Purworejo District.

The concentration of Regional Development Planning raised regional issues such as the low export value of IKM of sugar, coconut IKM that has not met the quality standard of the destination country, and the limited capital in IKM Bambu. Through this studio, it is planned about the institutional plans, economic plans, and spatial plans of Purworejo Regency.

The concentration of Urban Infrastructure Management develops the Kutoarjo-Purworejo area into a service-based, trade, and industrial-based agglomeration region that gives regional economic influence to Purworejo District.

Urban Design Concentration is designing Kutoarjo Square with Urban Heritage theme and emphasizing the concept of heritage site development. Through this design is expected to maintain, maintain and protect the area of ​​Heritage in Purworejo District.

Concentration of Housing and Settlement is doing housing and settlement development in Krendetan Village, Bagelan Sub-district which is border area. Through this studio, determined the concept and strategy of development and development plan of housing and settlement area in the village consisting of 220 plots of land.

After all the concentration to do the presentation, followed by a question and answer session or response from participants who attended. Through this seminar, many responses obtained from local government in the form of appreciation and also useful input. After the seminar, this event is also closed by a dinner as breaking the fast on the Building A Floor 1 DPWK
